The Blaggards: 'Carleen' Nick's, Montauk, NY September 26th '09 Steve Prisco: guitar, vocals Rich Umbach: guitar, vocals Mick Hargreave: bass, vocals Tom Ryan: drums, vocals
That song is written by The Blaggards guitarist Steve Prisco (closest to the camera) and is on the list for the band to record very soon... thank you NO-FO-SO!
Since their current lineup of Tom Ryan (drums), Rich Umbach (lead guitar), Steve Prisco (guitars), and Mick Hargreaves (bass) gelled in early 2006, THE BLAGGARDS are pleased to have an ever-growing circle of supporters on the Long Island/NY bar-band scene, appearing in venues large and small.
Shunning the worn-out formula of endless classic rock tune retreads and bland interpretations of "the hits", they are instead known best for interpreting the songwriting talents of artists such as Alejandro Escovedo, Lucinda Williams, Rockpile, Ry Cooder, Buddy Miller, Son Volt, Long Ryders, Slaid Cleaves, Drifters, Vulgar Boatmen, Waco Brothers, Bottle Rockets, Johnny Horton, Bob Dylan, T-Bone Burnette, Jayhawks, Beat Farmers, Dwight Yoakum, Robbie Fulks, Patty Smith, Old 97's, Los Lobos, Neil Young, The La's, John Hiatt, Springsteen, Sam Cooke, Chris Stamey, Duane Jarvis, NRBQ, and Delbert McClinton.
Their self-produced recording of Ray Davies' "Last of the Steam Powered Trains" on the upcoming Paradiddle Records release "Kinks Unkovered" bodes well for future projects, perhaps even belying some original material efforts on the horizon.
